Cidaemon exe cpu usage
I think there was a conflict between it and Google Desktop that was slowing my machine down significantly. Processing faster now though. Glad to have that gone. I got rid of that. Comments violating those rules will be removed. Comments that don't add value will be removed, including off-topic or content-free comments, or comments that look even a little bit like spam.

HELP Reply. At about Reply. Simply disable the indexing service. This is the solution to stopping that annoying Cidaemon. I think someone else said the same thing. Windows XP To disable cidaemon. Tx, Pete Reply.

To adjust how hard the index tries to keep up to date, right click on Indexing service in the left pane, , if the service is started, click stop, then click all tasks, then tune performance.
The top setting is the most agressive; the second from top setting will pause indexing activity whilst you are using the PC, and will start it after about two minutes of idle time. That's the setting I use, so the indexing service never takes up resources whilst I need them.
You can also, under one of the indexes say system , click on the query the catalog icon: enter your search term in the window that opens and see how quickly it finds everything that contains it If you look in the help file you will also find how to use the indexing query language in Windows Explorer search, for very fast searching from the catalog.
